Tight Dresses, High Slits, Laced Sides, and so much leg. The Deacon's Wife inspired my ready to wear collection. A strong independent woman who manages to serve the Lord and look fabulous while doing it. When people say "the world is your runway" she took this literal and catwalks down the aisles of the church. It's always exciting to see what Elsma Hunter will wear on Sunday, because she will never serve you the Blood of Christ in the same outfit twice.
Through The Wall
Growing up in constant fear is never a beautiful childhood. The potential of losing your parents any day without warning is a frightening reality to live in. After losing my dad to deportation at the age of 15, building a wall has had a different meaning in my house. It has meant holding up the house walls with my mother's bare hands. It has meant keeping a wall up and showing strength even at our weakest, so my brother doesn't grow up with the same fear and separation anxiety we did. Through the Wall is a collection that shows the other side of the wall, because only with an understanding of the other side can we grow closer as a community.
Running late to my next event. What's new? I wish I could hop out the shower, wrap a towel around me, and head out the door just like that! And with this idea comes the last collection. An imaginative way to wrap dresses and gowns, because not all of us have a handsome husband that can zip up our back while he finishes cooking breakfast for us. Dripping is a collection inspired by the drape and creases of a towel wrapped around you after a shower. After all, whats better than a cold shower in the Houston summer?
